Alzhanov Otyshy (1873-1918)
Alzhanov Otyshny is a public figure, a member of the Alash Orda government, an educator, a folklorist. In the 1887 year he graduated from the Russian-Kazakh School, then he graduted the Omsk High School in 1890 and Omsk Teacher’s Seminary in 1894. In the 1894-1895 years he worked as a clerk of the council of the governor-general, in the 1895-1907years he was a translator of the Akmola regional court. In the 1907-1909 years he was a head of the Russian-Kazakh School of Kokpekty. In the 1907 year he made a report on the problems of educating the Kazakh people at a meeting of the Commission for the Review of the Regulations on Education and Schools of Foreigners in St. Petersburg. He exposed the consequences of the missionary orientation of the tsarist educational and educational system. Alzhanov opposed the arbitrariness of the settlers because he was exiled for 5 years to the Lepsa district of the Semirechensky district. After the February Revolution of 1917, he was one of the leaders of the Alash movement in the Semirechenskaya region. He was elected a member of the Alash Orda government at the second All-Kazak Congress in the city of Orenburg on December 5-13, 1917. He died in a battle with the Bolsheviks, when he commanded a detachment of Alash police in Semirechye in 1918. His family was repressed by Soviet power.
