Eldes Omaruly

Eldes Omaruly’s Parents

Eldes’ father Omar learned to write early and was one of the literate people in the village. Eldes’ mother, Sholpan, died at a young age. Omar’s second wife was Galia, she died in 1953 and is buried in Karatomar.

Omar had four children: three sons and a daughter. The fate of Eldes and Iskander was tragic – they were subjected to repression, and the youngest Abdesh died of illness in 1948. And only the daughter Mariyash Omarovna lived to an old age and died in the nineties in the village of Kaiyndykol (now OAO Belinsky). She told her children about the Omarov family so that they would preserve the memory of their lineage.

Eldes Omar was over seventy years old when the Great Patriotic War began. During the war, he introduced villagers to newspaper publications, front-line reports, and read letters. His father deliberately did not teach his youngest son, Abdesh, so that he would not follow the difficult path of his brothers.

Eldes Omarula’s wife and son

Eldes’ wife was Elsa Adamovna Berte, the daughter of the German ambassador to Tashkent.

They named their first son Kenesary, in honor of the Great Khan. At that time, his friends affectionately called him Genrikh, and his Russian friends – Andrey, so the boy had three names. Kenesary was a military pilot during the Great Patriotic War, who bombed the fascists from the air. Apparently, the father gave the name Genrikh Berta on the birth certificate as a precaution.

The fate of the only remaining descendant of Eldes Omarula is unknown.
